The WJ-700 Lieying, Falcon in English, is a single-engine, high altitude, high speed, long endurance unmanned aircraft system developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) to perform surveillance and strike missions. Thanks to its large payload the aircraft can release both standoff and precision-guided weapons. The WJ-700 is similar to the US Air Force RQ-4 Global Hawk but adding the strike capability in addition to the wide area surveillance role. The WJ-700 took to the skies for the first time on January 11, 2021 and is expected to achieve initial operational capability (IOC) by 2025.
